everything is fair in love and war!
and i bow to thee, whoever coined it the first time.. *gratitude*
and this statement is probably the best example of being the most significant and profound meaning arrangement of such words so as to really drive home a point.. it's always the winner's argument.. everything is fair in love and war.. however way you look at it.. you can derive many an interpretations by varying your intensity on different words, as you may please, yet, in all those ocassions, the underlining never changes.. everything continues to be fair in love and war..
when you're in "love" you are at constant war~ with yourself, with suroundings, with people (the one you love and also other than the one you love), with the varied/ myriad kaleidoscope of intangibles viz. time (or the lack of it, or even the difference in it), place (presence and/ or the absence), and the list is inexhaustible..
you war, because you love.. because it pains that the one you love differs with you, and you war to make your point acceptable and that too uncontested!
so you war because you love and when you love, you're at constant war.
and not to discount the fanatic obsession of the entire nation regarding "fairness"(sic).. and yes, i do intend all the pun here.
p.s. this post is a result of me being in a happy state followed by happy-clappy-first half, wherein the Boss Lady was in a party mode, and i also have a 5-Star to boast of! and in retospect, this is more to do with my state of amusement after the 1400 hrs segment on Aaj Tak, wherein the Headline flashed "Everthing is Fair in Love and War", over the hot topic of Delhi elections, followed by pictures of the "nominees" and also some really funny "news"!
p.p.s statutory warning : this post is perfectly capable of driving a completely "sane" person "insane".
